Everything you need to know about Stakeholders
Event Stakeholders is the term we use to refer to any major contributor of an event. Ordinarily, this is an individual, company, organisation, or entity that receives a direct share of the revenue from an event. Though this does not always have to be the case.
While it is totally your choice whether or not you want Gighabit to help facilitate paying and supporting your Stakeholders, we make sure you have as much control over your event and its Stakeholders/Participants as possible.
As an Event Organiser you have total control over how much access or information your stakeholders have, as well as how they get paid. Event Organisers can change the permissions of individual Event Stakeholders of their events, on a per event basis. These permissions control whether or not they can see:
Stakeholder Permissions
Page Views
Choose whether or not Stakeholders can see how many times your event’s page was viewed on the Gighabit Platform.
Sales Conversion Rates
Choose whether or not Stakeholders can see the sales conversion rate for your event on the Gighabit Platform (How many of the tickets allocated to Gighabit have been sold (so far)).
Stakeholder Revenue Share
Choose whether or not Stakeholders can see their revenue shares for the event (how much they will be paid at the conclusion of the event.
Sales Distribution
Choose whether or not Stakeholders can see the sales distribution of the ticket buyers for this event, sorted by location (Postcodes, Cities, Counties, Countries).
Age Distribution
Choose whether or not Stakeholders can see the sales age distribution of the ticket buyers for any given event.
Stakeholder Ticket Bracket Sales Breakdowns
Choose whether or not Stakeholders can see the breakdown of sales on a per ticket bracket basis.
Ticket Scanning
Choose whether or not stakeholders have the ability to scan tickets for your events. This permission, like all of the others, is independent of each of the other permissions. Meaning if you want to include an event stakeholder solely so they can scan tickets, that is within your power to do so.
Automated Pay-outs
Gighabit has an automated pay-out system, as soon as your event concludes an automatic payment will be made from the Stripe Escrow Wallet holding the revenue from your event to your bank account. This is the case for your account and your stakeholders, if you want it to be. You will have the ability to choose on a per ticket type basis who receives what. Maybe you want to allocate a custom ticket type to the band to try and sell, giving them 50% of the revenue from their sales. Maybe you want to give the venue 20% of all ticket revenue? You can do that by adding them to each ticket bracket. Maybe you want to assign all of the revenue to yourself and handle your own payments to Stakeholders? That is perfectly possible and is our default setup.
Who can become a Stakeholder?
Anybody you like! The only constraint on your Stakeholders is whether they pass our KYC process. The KYC (Know Your Customer) process is vital for us to ensure we know exactly who is using our platform. This is especially important when it comes to the changing hands of money. We want to ensure that your event revenue is protected, in order to do that we need to know where your revenue is going. The KYC process at Gighabit is not automated, it is done manually by a real person. This is to ensure that there are fewer errors, but it does slow the KYC process down. We guarantee that we will complete the KYC process within 48 hours. However, it should be noted it is normally completed in less than 12 hours. In some cases, it can be done in just a few minutes.
How do I add a Stakeholder?
During the event creation Process, you will see four tabs within your events menu. These will be labelled Overview, Details, Stakeholders and Tickets. Once you have navigated to the Stakeholder tab you will see yourself on the left hand side, and just above, there is a prompt to type. Simply add the email address of the stakeholder you wish to add and click send. They will be immediately emailed and prompted to join the Gighabit platform and be automatically directed to your event.
Can I remove a Stakeholder?
It is not currently possible to remove a Stakeholder from your event. So make sure you add the correct email address. If you believe you have added the wrong email to your event as a stakeholder you can get in touch with support and we can potentially change this on the back end. However, in the interim, you can simply remove their permissions and not add them to any ticket brackets.
