How do I use the search function to look for events?

The search function on the Gighabit homepage is really simple to use. You have a few options at your disposal to help you find shows across the country, and across all genres. We hope that you will find the search function pretty intuitive to use! However, for clarity's sake, we will break down how the search function works here for your convenience.

Search by event

Search by event allows you to search for a specific show, it is the best way of finding what you are looking for as it will naturally filter out all of the noise of other shows that you might have zero interest in. However, the search by event function will also prevent you from seeing other shows that you might not have known about but would perhaps be interested in. The search by event function is the most narrow search, what you see is what you get.

Search by date

Searching by date allows you to search within a predefined window. For example, you can search for events happening today, tomorrow, this week, this weekend, next week, next month. Or, you can pick your own time window. Maybe you are interested to see what is going on over the next three months? Maybe you are curious about what shows are going on for your birthday? It is completely up to you. 

Search by price

Searching by price is pretty simple, you really have two options. You can either search for free vs paid events (events that do not charge for their tickets or include a booking fee). Or, you can search for events priced within a certain range. For example, £1 - £10 or £25 - £100. 

Search by distance

The search by distance function requires you to allow us to check your current location. Clicking “Use my current location” will prompt you to grant us permission to do so. Then, you can choose a mile radius from your location for us to search for events in. This has no upper limit, if you want to search for every event within 10,000 miles be our guest!

A mix of the above

To get the most out of our search function try utilising a mixture of our search criteria to find the perfect show for you. For example, maybe the exact show you are looking for is within 50 miles of your house, on your birthday, and costs less than £25 per ticket. Only you can know exactly what you are looking for, we are just here to help you find it!

What if I can't find an event using the search function?

On the off chance that you cannot find an event using the search function for a show that you are sure is being supported by the Gighabit platform you can find it by scrolling down the homepage looking show by show. Or, by messaging the chatbot and asking for a specific show. The customer support team will be able to provide you with a link to the shows page, or, look into why the show is not currently appearing on the platform.
